ABOUT US Africa Rising is a professional registered travel and tour operator specialising in personal and corporate travel throughout the African continent. Africa Rising facilitates corporate conferences and other special functions which includes targeted events and tradeshows. Africa Rising’s leisure portfolio is managed by the founding member Nicky Macfadyen who has always been passionate about travel, receiving distinctions for her travel services National Diploma. She has 12 years experience within the travel and tourism industry, from humble beginnings at the now well known THOMPSONS TOURS to solely representing the THREE CITIES HOTEL GROUP in the United Kingdom to managing the United Kingdom portfolio for the prestigious ROVOS RAIL which included operations and new business on the magnificent maiden journey Cape Town to Cairo. Nicky has firsthand experience and is considered somewhat an expert in both luxury rail and air safaris, from rail journeys to Dar es Salaam to five star air adventures into the heart of Africa including extreme countries such as Sudan. Nicky is a well known and respected member of the travel community throughout the world and has developed sustainable relationships with many of the key service providers on the African Continent. Africa Rising’s corporate portfolio is facilitated by David Macfadyen who has an electrical manufacturing background. Due to huge electrification projects on the go throughout the Continent he has been successful at developing new business over the last 8 years. His position required him to travel extensively in to Africa. David has experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of African travel and is therefore in a position to offer the corporate world wishing to establish business in the African market place the most suitable means of travel to assist in ensuring the best return on these crucial trips. Africa is still considered the breadbasket of the world containing more natural resources than any other continent on earth. Africa Rising focuses primarily on assisting to extend South Africa’s commercial footprint into the rest of Africa but is also geared to work closely with Chinese and Indian business prospectors.
